The Rush Properties maintenance team form our strong foundation, working together to ensure that each property under their management is not only maintained, but thrives. With 60 years of collective expertise, a proactive approach to maintenance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, this team stands as a testament to the vital role played by maintenance professionals in the world of commercial real estate.

Let's take a closer look at the cornerstone role of our maintenance team in managing and maintaining 30 Rush Properties commercial buildings spread across Kitsap, Pierce, and Thurston Counties.

Meet the Team:

  • Jimmy Wallace - Director of Facilities Services:
    • With an impressive 21+ years of industry experience and certifications in HVAC and electrical systems, Jimmy is the driving force behind Rush Properties' maintenance operations.
  • Greg Stephens - Facilities Manager:
    • Greg handles day-to-day operations for our properties in Gig Harbor and Port Orchard. In addition to performing routine work orders and preventative maintenance tasks for our tenants, Greg builds upon ten years of similar experience working on complex building projects with the team.
  • Kurt Wallitner - Facilities Manager:
    • Bringing 20 years of facilities experience to the table, Kurt manages facilities in Puyallup, University Place, and Tacoma. Like Greg, he's involved in routine work orders, preventative maintenance tasks, as well as complex building projects across Rush Properties.
  • Jacob Bullon - Maintenance Technician:
    • Our “eyes and ears” for each property, Jacob just celebrated a decade with Rush Properties last month! Happy Anniversary, Jacob! His weekly inspections ensure that both exterior grounds and interior common areas are meticulously and expertly maintained.

Their dedication to achieving and maintaining the highest standards is evident in every task, big or small, making them an invaluable asset to Rush Properties. Ranging from updating the physical appearance of our properties, to performing security and energy efficiency upgrades, to executing preventive and routine maintenance, Jimmy and the team leverage their skills and expertise to address the unique requirements of both new construction and older buildings, showcasing a commitment to not just maintaining, but improving the properties under their care.

The team's commitment to excellence extends far beyond facility maintenance; it's about anticipating needs and taking preventive measures. This proactive approach ensures that potential issues are addressed before they become significant concerns, contributing to the overall health and longevity of our properties, the satisfaction of our tenants, and the best-in-class property management we are known for!

Maintenance by the Numbers:

In 2023 alone, the team achieved remarkable milestones with the completion of:

  • 1,746 Work Orders: From changing light bulbs to troubleshooting plumbing issues, the team responded promptly and effectively to tenant requests, ensuring a smooth operation for all properties.

  • 742 Preventative Maintenance Tasks: Proactive in their approach, the team didn't just address immediate issues, but also focused on preventive measures. Tasks included elevator Phase I & Phase II testing, routine HVAC maintenance, and collaboration with vendors for essential routine testing such as annual fire systems testing and backflow testing.,
  • 1,065 inspection reports completed
