A Culture of Giving Back

Philanthropy has been a cornerstone of The Rush Companies for over 37 years. We take immense pride in serving our community through both our corporate philanthropy initiatives and our employee-led "Rush Gives" program. “Rush Gives” is driven by our team members, who coordinate volunteer efforts and allocate resources to support nonprofit organizations across the Greater Pacific Northwest. We have contributed over $1 million to local communities, with a minimum of $90,000 allocated annually to various local organizations and causes we believe in.

The Heart of Rush: Our People

Supporting our people—our valued team members, families, friends, project partners, tenants, and communities—is at the heart of who we are at Rush. Whether we're building homes with Habitat for Humanity, supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and our colleague Jenny Adams at the Great Strides Gig Harbor walk, or leading the volunteer efforts at Beer & Bites raising funds for the South Sound CARE Foundation, we rally for our communities and each other.

We encourage our team members to get involved in ways that resonate with them such as participating in philanthropic events, joining our “Rush Gives” Committee, or proposing causes they care about. Our executive team is equally committed, participating in philanthropic initiatives and providing the budget, resources, and support needed to make a lasting impact year after year.

Rush Commercial Project Coordinator Lead and “Rush Gives” Committee Member, Rachael DeMark, shares her ‘why’:

Being a part of Rush Gives for the past two years has been a rewarding experience, and has allowed me to play a small role on a team that works together to make a big impact. Working for a company that genuinely cares about the needs of our community is important to me because it aligns with my own values.

My favorite event this year was our “Christmas in July Giving Tree”, which supported the Make-A-Wish foundation. It was our first year doing a summer-themed giving tree, and I love that all employees could easily participate, whether they work in the main office or at one of our job sites. It’s been a privilege getting to know the other committee members behind Rush Gives, and working together towards our shared goal of positive change.
