We are excited to announce that Cornus House, a new, transit-oriented development in the heart of Tacoma’s rapidly growing Dome District, is officially open! This milestone was celebrated with a lively ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by our esteemed project partners, local community members, and Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodwards.

Located at 2502 Pacific Ave., Cornus House is a new, state-of-the-art eight-story, 83,500-square-foot mixed-use development that features 199 thoughtfully-designed affordable housing units and three retail spaces. These new apartments offer modern, transit-friendly living in a prime location, directly adjacent to the T Line trolley, a future light rail station, and just minutes from Interstate 5. This community is also located a stone’s throw from the Tacoma Dome, the UW Tacoma campus, and downtown Tacoma. The project was built by Rush Commercial Construction, designed by Jackson Main Architecture, and developed by Great Expectations.

Affordable, Transit-Oriented Residences

Cornus House offers a variety of unit sizes, ranging from studio apartments to two-bedroom homes, with square footage ranging from 350 to 700 square feet. The development is part of the eight-year Multifamily Tax Exemption program, with 20% of the units designated for residents earning up to 80% of the area median income. The majority of the apartments are available at 10% to 15% below market rates. Since the opening on December 13th, 15% of the homes have already been leased, showcasing the growing demand for affordable, transit-oriented housing opportunities in the region.
