In June, the Rush Commercial Construction team volunteered at the AGC Build Your Future event at UW. The goal of the event is to give a broad introduction to construction careers for local high school students.
Rush closed out the week-long event with an estimating, scheduling and building exercise for the students. In groups of 2-3, the students worked to estimate and schedule the construction of an 8' by 8' wood structure. As the final exercise, they got to create the finished product. Through this event the students gained estimating, scheduling, and teamwork skills, and ultimately saw something turn from drawings to a tangible product!
Thank you to our Rush Commercial Special Projects Division Project Manager Brett Griffin and Superintendent Jeff Zarelli for your dedication to our future builders!
